Lisa Costello
Dr. Lisa Costello holds a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University, a Masters Degree in comparative health sciences from the University of Pennsylvania and certifications in canine rehabilitation and canine/equine spinal manipulation from the Healing Oasis. Dr. Costello has worked for the past 39 years in a variety of clinical settings, including general small animal medicine and surgery, emergency medicine, sports medicine and high quality/high volume spay/neuter. She currently works in Colorado Springs at the Hamlett Spay and Neuter clinic and SoulPet, a client/patient focused small animal practice.
For the past 33 years, Dr. Costello’s passion has been dog sports and training/competing with her Whippets in multiple venues. She has competed with this multi-faceted breed in conformation, lure coursing, racing, obedience, rally and nosework. She is currently training her dogs with Mr. Promise Lee and Altitude K-9 for protection sports....the first of their breed to do this type of work. Dr. Costello is an AKC approved judge for the Hound group in conformation and is currently pursuing Terrier Certification. She is a past board member for the American Whippet Club and was their National Performance Director for 12 years. She is a current board member for the Whippet Health Foundation and manages their health database. She spends her free time competing with her Whippets in a variety of performance and conformation venues nationally.
